Harvest Festival at the Shops at Don Mills

The Harvest Festival started on October 14th and it ends on October 16th. This event is in the centre square at the Shops and Don Mills in Toronto. So, you can do a little shopping and enjoy the Farmer’s Market, pumpkin patch, fresh baked goods, floral arrangements and drinks. Cooking demos are also going on throughout the day and if you finish walking the square you can always do a little window shopping or grocery shopping at the shops nearby and surrounding the square.

I did a bit of wine tasting, tried the pepperettes, had a fresh pretzel, and drank hot chocolate (“Drink of the Gods”) while I was there. The German Beef Lendengers pepperettes were nice and spicy. If you don’t like spicy food then you can try the German Beef or Extra Lean Turkey Pepperettes. The fresh fruit was colourful but, my sweet tooth won out today and I had to get some baked goods.

I got a cute mini strawberry rhubarb pie and an assortment of fresh baked muffins perfect for the season.

The pumpkin patch was buzzing with kids and parents. The booths were all busy and who can resist the honey from the Botanical Gardens booth. I decided to try their bee pollen and bee propolis spray.

Pumpkin Patch

If you like wine, fresh fruit, pies, tarts, muffins honey or flowers, there is a little of everything for you to check out. I wouldn’t call it a large event or Harvest Festival but with the warmer Fall weather we have been having lately it’s a nice way to spend the day and sit outside in the sun to enjoy a few treats and maybe a coffee or tea too.

Food is always better when it’s grown or made locally in Ontario. I enjoy supporting the local vendors and am more than happy to eat and taste their speciality foods. Check out this Harvest Festival before it ends on Sunday.
