Saigon Star – Vietnamese Cuisine
My family and friends always enjoy the food at this Vietnamese restaurant. This is my second review on their food but, their dishes are so good I have to write a second review on my last visit. The service is consistent and their quality of their food is something to remember.
If you’re a seafood lover, I highly recommend the Drunken Crab with Garlic Butter. It is made with beer, garlic and butter and is cooked perfectly with a BC crab. They have a large menu of various Vietnamese dishes but, this is one of their most popular seafood dishes and if you are dining with a large group, you may want to consider ordering two of them.

Tonight my family and I also enjoyed sharing the Thai Platter, Chicken Satay, Grilled Short Ribs and their Garlic Green Beans. The spring rolls and satay chicken (and their beef satay) with their peanut sauce were very good. Although I’m not a fan of chicken feet my relative told me it tasted good too.

The short ribs were savoury and the serving plate was emptied very quickly after it was put on our table. So, quickly that I didn’t get a chance to take a great picture of this dish. They are similar tasting to Korean Kalbi (short ribs).

We couldn’t forget the veggies and this stir fry-like dish with garlic and green beans is flavourful and cooked perfectly. The beans are cooked so they are still a bit crisp but, cooked fully. This restaurant is not very big but, the service and food make up for their smaller space. Quality is important here and we’ve never been disappointed with their dishes at Saigon Star yet. Try it out the next time you’re in Richmond Hill area and craving some Vietnamese food.
