Duo Patisserie & Cafe has only been open a couple years and is located in Markham. The pastries are like little pieces of art and almost look too pretty to eat. It’s a small cafe with a good selection of pastries, cakes and viennoiseries. There were too many to choose from so, I tried the Pistache. A popular pastry that is topped with raspberries, with the inside having a pistachio custard and raspberry layer with a thin pie like perfect crust. It was delicious. I enjoyed the caramel latte as well in this quaint patisserie.
The seating is limited but they had a lot of visitors coming to take their favourite pastry treats home. I can see why. Like the patisserie, their packaging is also clean and modern. I enjoyed looking at the different pastries and cakes from Hazel to Yuco (dark chocolate mousse with hazelnut praline crisp to Coconut nectar light Yuzo cheesecake) that came on their own individual little black platters. These pastries and cakes looked just as good as they probably tasted and I can’t wait to come back again with friends to try some more of their beautiful pastries and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea.
If you’re in a hurry or just want to sit and enjoy these treats Duo Patisserie is a nice way to enjoy a weekend or weekday sweet. I’m looking forward to trying more of their pastries or viennoiseries on my next visit!
